The source of Saint Amand water originates in north-western France, not far from the city of Valencienes. It is well known that the Romans already used this spring around the beginning of the Christian era. It was not until the 17th century however, that a spa was built to underscore the beneficial effects of the water. The actual bottling activities only started in 1927.
Rainwater travels for a period of no less than 5,000 years, to finally find its way to the 90-metre deep source. Saint Amand contains no nitrate and is therefore also ideal for the preparation of baby food. With a calcium level of 176 mg per litre, the water can be considered somewhat calciferous.
